Snow Day ~ Poem ~ Childhood

Via Flickr by Chris Radcliffe

Snow Day

He slunk past the stairs

With gloves in hand

Hat pulled tight, scarf in place

The call of fresh snow was to

Irresistable

Like an explorer in new lands

He placed one foot in front of the other

Staking out his snow fort

“This is mine!” he roared

From the window he saw

His mother smile

Stomping his foot down

He declared to the snowmen

Guarding his keep

“Only mother’s with hot chocolate are allowed!”

Seconds later

Holding his cup

He wished everyday was a

Snow day
