The Last Stand ~ Sad Love Poem

Bruno Monginoux /

The Last Stand

We came here to forget

The unease of it all

Me walking ahead

You walking behind

Yellow leaves ceremoniously fell to the ground

They knew their last stand was up

And instinctively gave up

They knew without thinking

What to do

This was an accompanying piece for a series of photographs I was doing a few years back in large format.  I do not have the capability to scan large negatives at the moment. I tried to take a pic of the photo I took, but it did not turn out right.

  1. It is a sentimental and sad poem, as all things must one day end. Lovely poem, Lara.

I’d love to see your photography 🙂
